Remembering Jean...

Jean Baker Miller

 

 

 

 

Jean Baker Miller, M.D., Founding Director of the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute at the Stone Center, Wellesley College, and a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine.

She wrote Toward a New Psychology of Women, co-authored The Healing Connection: How Women Form Relationships in Therapy and in Life, and Women's Growth in Connection. She edited Psychoanalysis and Women. She was the author of many Works in Progress, published by the Stone Center at Wellesley College, as well as numerous articles on depression, dreams, and the psychology of women.

A practicing psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, she was a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, The American College of Psychiatrists, American Orthopsychiatric Association, American Academy of Psychoanalysis, and was a member of the board of trustees of the last two.

Dr. Miller died July 29, 2007.
