“My hometown—Jackson, Mississippi—is not the sailing capital of the South. I’d never sailed before, I’d always wanted to try, and Wellesley covers your costs. So I joined the team, sailed on the Charles River—and sometimes fell into it—and traveled around New England competing against the nation’s top teams.” Ann Walt ’12 also helped to organize an exhibit of African art at the Davis Museum.
