They’re Davis Scholars, two of several dozen women over 24 who return to college and complete their degrees at Wellesley. They have lives, they have children, they had Thanksgiving at the Davis Scholar House. Katie is an English major; Danielle is peace and justice studies. Danielle: “My mother went to school in a little rural town where the highest grade available was fourth. She raised us near a slum in Rio de Janeiro because it allowed her to afford private school for me. My family valued education. Wellesley understands where I’ve come from—and where I want to go.”
