the barometer rise and fall and remember the crazy New England weather with
fondness.

Wellesley
College Library
The Library site was redesigned to organize the growing number of virtual
resources available to library patrons. A highlight of the new site are the
research subject pages, which are maintained by librarians and collections
specialists. Choose 'Browse by Subject' and find research aids from books
to websites.

Administrative
Council
"Administrative Council shall serve in an advisory capacity to the President
and shall provide a forum for exchange of information among the administrative
staff members and departments and with other College constituencies. The Council
shall represent the views of the administrative staff in the College's decision-making
process." The website includes a self-nomination form, as well as a list
of committees and meeting times.
Disability
Services
Students who need to request accomodations will find resources here in the
virtual home of Disability Services. The site also has resources and contact
information for staff, faculty, and visitors.
Housing
Office
The Housing Office has made available on the web information and forms related
to housing registration. Suite lottery forms, summer housing registration
and room change forms can all be downloaded and printed.
Student
Financial Services
Student Financial Services is the access point to all things relating to
finacing your Wellesley education. In addition to providing financial aid
and student employment information, the website provides contacts for student
account information.
Student Organizations
Bates
Hall
In the words of House President Peijean Wu, "Bates is truly the happening
place." Take a virtual tour of Bates Hall and find out about Katharine
Lee Bates, what that sculpture is in the Bates circle, and Sunday sundaes.
Cafe
Hoop
Hoopies are a unique breed of Wellesley-ites. They live on coffee, swedish
fish and nachos, and gather in the cave-like basement of Schneider from 1
pm to 1 am.
Dance
Collective
Dance Collective is a group focused on modern dance. Their performances incorporate
dance improvisation and audience participation.
Real
Life
Real Life is a campus Christian community. Their mission is to "present
the truth about Jesus to each woman at Wellesley and to give her the opportunity
to make an educated decision about whether or not to follow Him."
Recycling
Committee
Does Wellesley recycle newspapers? Cardboard? Where does the 5 cents go from
my soda can? The Recycling committee, a cooperative effort of students, faculty
and staff, is charged with examining how the Wellesley College community
can act in a more environmentally responsible manner. The committee started
and continues to run the dorm recycling program, which does take newspaper
and cardboard. You'll have to read the history section to find out about
the 5 cents.
Tower
Court
Tower Court is one of the oldest dorms on campus, built in 1915 on the site
of the old College Hall, which burned down the previous year. The building
is known for its formal courtyard and living rooms, as well as lakeside views.
Wellesley
Asian Alliance
The Wellesley Asian Alliance's mission is "to serve the Asian and Asian
American community, to enrich the multicultural experience at Wellesley,
and to make waves." The website has a section detailing the nascent
Asian American Studies major.
Wellesley
Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
The mission of WIVCF is "to establish and advance at colleges and universities
witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus as Savior
and Lord: growing in love for God, God's word, God's people of every ethnicity
and culture and God's purposes in the world."
Women
for Choice
The purpose of the organization is to "promote education for the Wellesley
College community about issues surrounding women's reproductive rights and
health and to provide volunteer and internship contacts for students interested
in this area."

Pendleton
East
Pendleton East underwent a major construction project over the summer of
2000 and the fall semester. This website tracked some of the changes in the
building and details the building's history through photos of the past, present,
and future of Pendleton East.

College Library - e-Resources A-Z
The A-Z list is a comprehensive list of the electronic resources, including
full text databases and indexes, available to library patrons.
Academic
Chinese
Department Summer in Beijing Program
Wellesley in Beijing is a 4-week intensive Mandarin Chinese program. The
website has information on the curriculum, as well as practical information
on traveling to and living in China. Advice on bargaining from the "Bits
of Wisdom" section: "Make sure you know your numbers well and don't
forget to turn on the smile, milk the fact that you're a student and of course
use the quantity of whatever you're buying to your advantage."
Latin
American Studies Program
Latin American Studies is an interdepartmental major. This site has a brief
history and links related to the program, such as studying abroad opportunities.

Harambee
House
Harambee is the cultural center for students, faculty, and staff of African
descent. "Harambee is a Swahili word that means 'working together',
and the house encourages students, faculty and administrators to meet and
work together toward common goals."

All you ever wanted to know about mail services - location, hours, contact

Student Organizations
Al-Muslimat
"Al-Muslimat is a support group for the Muslim women of Wellesley College." Part
of the mission of the organization is to promote understanding of Islam and issues
relating to Islam throughout the college community. The website furthers this
mission, offering information from basic (What is Islam?) to complex (What about
Muslim Women?).
