What's New on the Wellesley CWIS?

Spring 2001

General Interest

Weather comes to Wellesley
Wellesley's own real time weather conditions. Before you venture across the academic quad, check the temperature, wind speed, dew point and solar radiation. For those of you wishing, "Wellesley, Wellesley, only to be there..." watch the barometer rise and fall and remember the crazy New England weather with fondness.

www.wellesley.edu
The Wellesley homepage and many of the secondary pages got a facelift at the end of the spring semester. For information about the redesign or for help navigating the new pages, see Help!

Recycling Committee
Does Wellesley recycle newspapers? Cardboard? Where does the 5 cents go from my soda can? The Recycling committee, a cooperative effort of students, faculty and staff, is charged with examining how the Wellesley College community can act in a more environmentally responsible manner. The committee started and continues to run the dorm recycling program, which does take newspaper and cardboard. You'll have to read the history section to find out about the 5 cents.

Tower Court
Tower Court is one of the oldest dorms on campus, built in 1915 on the site of the old College Hall, which burned down the previous year. The building is known for its formal courtyard and living rooms, as well as lakeside views.

Wellesley Asian Alliance
The Wellesley Asian Alliance's mission is "to serve the Asian and Asian American community, to enrich the multicultural experience at Wellesley, and to make waves." The website has a section detailing the nascent Asian American Studies major.
