exhibit: now showing in the

As finals approach, everyone's making plans--to get into the city for some
R&R, to leave campus for the summer. Before you go out, make sure you catch up on

Macintosh users, Netscape 1.1N is here! This new version lets you see web pages
with tables, different color backgrounds, dynamic documents, and it allows you to
"drag and drop" links. Also, the "throbbing N" has been replaced!

for the Macintosh." It can be found under Campus Information, About, Netscape for
Macintosh.

newly revised--Administrative
Handbook is now exclusively on the CWIS. Faculty and Staff, check here
for complete information about Affirmative Action, promotions and transfers,
payroll, insurance, retirement, vacation and leave policies and much more!
This Handbook, dated March 1995, replaces the previous edition dated
September 1991. It's under Campus Information, College Policies.

The Center for Research on
Women has added a homepage, found under Campus Information, Academic. Here you
can find out how to join the Associates Program, and soon there will be information
about specific research projects at the Center.
Just in time for final papers and projects, the

Get a taste of the future for language-learning technology by viewing a video

Exchange, the National Theater Institute, Williams College's Mystic Seaport
Maritime program, Mills College and Spelman College is on the CWIS. Check it out,

Faculty, do you need to find the nearest place to scan graphics? Want to
show your class a movie on laserdisc and don't know where the player is?
To find a list of classrooms, labs, and
resource rooms with computers and A/V equipment, look under Campus Information,
Administration & Campus Services, Computing. Right now this list is only
complete for equipment in Founders, but it'll be updated soon with more
information about resources in Clapp Library and the Science Center.

The new American Psychological Association's WWW
site has been added to

Academic Departments and Programs). It includes information about psychological
tests, selected stories from the APA Monitor, a guide to library research in
psychology, and awards, funding, and membership information.

National Organization for Women (NOW) has
just announced their new WWW site! This site can be reached under Research

includes information about the organization, activities, press releases, the National
NOW Times, and NOW's positions on current issues and legislation.
Want to spend your junior year abroad in Córdoba, Spain? Check out the
PRESHCO page,

a description of the program (including an essay from a student participant),
this page features some beautiful photographs of the area.

which features a QuickTime movie of the Isadora Duncan dancers performing at the
opening of this exhibition at the Davis Museum.

get help if you need it! And, are you busy fulfilling those "C requirements?"
Check out the Science Library,

about the Science Library's hours, collection, special facilities, and programs.
There are also links to other science and medical libraries. Did you ever want
to know how to find The White House Home Page? This and other government
information can be found on

Resources Information Center. AskERIC also allows keyword searching
of the ERIC digests, making a wealth of information available
through your own computer!

Instructional Technology Newsletter (under Campus Information,
Administration & Campus Services, Computing) to see how some Wellesley professors
are jumping into the 21st century by using digital video, collaborative writing tools,
and interactive language-learning programs! Also, you can access the Massachusetts Department of
Education's new WWW site right on the Wellesley CWIS--it's under
Research Resources, INTERNET Resources, Academic Departments, Education. It features
links to not only selected Massachusetts Department of Education documents, but
also to Internet education and curriculum resources.

Internet resources for Spanish is now under Research Resources,
INTERNET Resources, Academic Departments. This page includes links to WWW sites and
Gopher sites in Spain and the Spanish speaking countries of Latin America, the
Royal Academy of the Spanish Language's guide to Spanish Grammar, and
Spanish/English and English/Spanish dictionaries. The
Russian Department now
has its own homepage, under Campus Information, Academic, Departments and
Programs. This page can tell you everything you ever wanted to know about
Russian at Wellesley! Looking for
information on graduate and professional schools? The
Peterson's Guide is now
accessible via the CWIS. Look under Research Resources, Reference.
Stanford's list of
Cognitive and Psychological Sources on the Internet
is under Internet Resources, Academic Departments, Cognitive Science and
Psychology. This resource includes Listservs, newsgroups, organizations and
conferences, academic programs, and software.

Economics (under Research Resources, INTERNET resources,
Academic departments) has been significantly expanded. This page includes links
for topics such as the U.S. Budget and the U.S. Census. You can visit museums
around the world on the World Wide Web! Try

(under Research Resources, INTERNET resources). Under
Internet resources for
Anthropology (under Research Resources, INTERNET resources, Academic
departments), take a look at pictures and text (in French) of the cave paintings
recently discovered at Vallon-Pont D'arcin, France. Also, the Guidelines and
Information on Awards to Faculty For Scholarly Activities has been revised--it
now includes forms (like travel expense applications) that you can print out
right from the CWIS!

Two new departments now have Internet Resource listings. Internet Resources
for German includes a link to the weekly on-line version of Der Spiegel. Need
some writing help? Try the Internet Resources for Writing, which has links to
on-line materials on writing skills. Both of these pages are found under
Research Resources, INTERNET Resources, Academic. And for you Canterbury Tales fans, login
instructions for the On-line Chaucer Bibliography can be found under Research
Resources, INTERNET Resources, Academic, English. This'll be useful to anyone
taking a course in Chaucer! Also, the Spring 1995 Class
Schedule is now on the CWIS (under Campus Information, Schedules).

The complete new Wellesley College Articles of
Government is now on the CWIS! Book I contains important information
regarding policies such as faculty and staff hiring, tenure, and committees and
councils. Students will find Book II an invaluable resource, as it covers
graduation requirements, course grading, individual study, and
exams. It is under Campus Information, College Policies. The Internet Resources for
Maps page (under Research Resources, INTERNET Resources) has been
improved--you can now find maps of countries and cities (done by the CIA!),
historical maps, maps of New England, and even several weather maps.

The CWIS now sports a list of
Faculty Publications, Exhibitions, and Performances for the 1993-94 academic year.
Covering all departments, this page includes exhibition catalogs and programs of
original works performed, and represents information gathered annually each spring
by the Faculty Records Office. It's located under Campus Information, Academic.

Music Library,

Also new is

Academic Departments and Programs). This provides access to French-language gophers
around the world,
news summaries from the French press, and online library resources in France.

Boston Online,
which can tell you all you ever needed to know about Boston, including maps, an
entertainment guide, the "Wicked Good Guide to Boston English," government
information, and even "digital postcards!"

We encourage you to use Netscape 1.0N as your WWW browser. It's faster and more
stable than Mosaic or earlier versions of Netscape! Netscape can support forms and
it has a "Stop"
button to cancel downloading a page that is taking too long--it's a feature
you'll find very useful. Mac users, there is now
a page with instructions on
converting to
Netscape.

Guidelines for
Faculty Computing Equipment, which lists the policy regarding the allocation
of computers for College faculty, can be found under Campus Information, College
Policies and Legislation. Students, want to find out how to order a transcript,
change your address, or get an enrollment verification? Check out the Registrar's Office page,
under Campus Information, Students. Also, the Library offers a list of locations
of all its Map
Collections under Campus Information, Academic, Library Services. Other new
additions which are especially useful for WWW beginners are the following guides
to the Internet: the Whole
Internet Catalog, Yahoo (a
huge guide to the WWW from Stanford), and MIT's list of Internet
resources (by subject). These can all be found under General Internet Tools and
Services, Guides. Also available is documentation on how to use Netscape, a new WWW
browser (under Campus Information, About). Finally, a new list has been compiled
of Internet resources for
Political Science, listed under Research Resources, Internet Resources,
Academic Departments and Programs.
