A new page on municipal government offers links to the Wellesley [town] Cybercenter, the Massachusetts EOCD's Community Locator (data and descriptive information on the cities and towns of the Commonwealth), and local and municipal web sites around the country. It should be of interest to political science students, staff who are searching for a new home, and possibly to travelers. A number of important Library policies are now in place. The policies cover the mission of the Library, development of the A-V collection, policy on periodical subscriptions, on-site use policy for people who are not members of the Wellesley college community, and the gifts policy (conditions under which the Library can accept gifts of library materials). The Public Affairs Office has updated their web page to include news releases about Wellesley. It includes information about changes in the adminstration as well as news stories about students receiving scholarships and famous lecturers and their discussion topics while lecturing at Wellesley. It also provides contact numbers for media representatives who would like to get more information about Wellesley, or who have questions about any of the news releases. The Internet Resources for Sociology, Biochemistry, Psychology, Spanish, and History pages have been updated. Highlights of the Sociology page include the Register of Social Science Electronic Journals, Social Science Data Collection site, and Social Research Update site. The Biochemistry page has a link to the National Center for Biotechnology Information which maintains GenBank, the NIH genetic sequence database which collects DNA sequences from scientists worldwide. In History there are two great new sources on Medieval history: Libellum Mundi, and Labyrinth. Psychology features the Neuropschology Central site, a comprehensive source for neuropsych research and resources. Spanish has two new links, to Famous Hispanics and Library catalogs in Spain. The Center for Work and Service has new pages up on the CWIS. It has information on internships, job recruiting, graduate advising, and resources at Wellesley and elsewhere for job searching, to name just a few things. The Friends of the Library newsletter for Fall of 1995 has been posted on the CWIS. The Wintersession bus schedules for the Senate Bus, MIT Exchange, and Natick Shuttle have been updated on the CWIS. Also, new links to the MBTA Commuter Rail and T schedules have been added and updated. The Commuter Rail page has an excellent form that allows you to choose starting and ending locations on the rail and get the schedule between those points.
