Biochem course website with Professor Adele Wolfson. In addition to providing
students with info on grading policies, lab schedules and the course in general,
the site now includes an imagemap with a matching navigation bar on each
page and a detailed syllabus with links corresponding to topics such as protein
structures, carbohydrates, nucleic acids, and lipids.
Chem
Lab Robotic Web Cam
Mellon Interns Sena Tang '03 and Natalie Ng '02 installed and configured
a robotic video camera mount on a computer in Professor Chris Arumainayagam's
lab. From a web page, he and others can pan, tilt, and center the camera
to view the pressure inside an ultrahigh vacuum chamber and monitor the status
of a turbo molecular pump and other lab equipment remotely.
The
Education Department
Working with Professors Barbara Beatty and Ken Hawes, Mellon Interns Nicole
Hatch '03 and Kathy Roche '03 substantially revised and expanded the Education
Department website. The site now includes detailed information on courses,
the faculty, internships, graduate studies, resources, and teacher education.

sent to a FirstClass conference. Note: this site is accessible only to
computers on Wellesley's campus and requires QuickTime 4.0 or later.
German

Mellon Interns Nora Jarrah '02 and Nicole Hatch '03 revised this web site
for Professor Jay Panetta's course on jazz history. This site contains audio
tracks of pieces to be studied, personnel information about the recordings,
the syllabus, and other important class information. To comply with copyright
guidelines supported by the Music Library Association, password authentication
limits access to students currently enrolled in the course, and the site
is completely inaccessible during semesters when the course is not offered. Note:
This site requires QuickTime 4.0 or later.
International
Financial Institutions Research Site
Professor Joseph Joyce, with Mellon intern Nora Jarrah '02, revised the site,
which lists research material on the international financial institutions
with separate listings for the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank
Group, and other multilateral institutions. The site includes basic references,
books, monographs, published articles, and recent working papers with links
to online versions of the papers (or information on how to obtain them),

revision. In addition, the site provides links to web sites of international
financial institutions and related organizations, as well as sites that deal
with international economics.

is also a multimedia section in which students can view brief clips from
four movies that will be screened and discussed in class. Note: Due to
copyright restrictions, the clips can only be seen by computers on the Wellesley
College network. These clips require QuickTime 4.0 or later to be viewed.
