WINTERSESSION NOTICE - All Course Proposals Due Fri., 11/22/08 WHAT IS WINTERSESSION? Wintersession at Wellesley College is a unique time when students may choose to be at the College to pursue a course or project, try an internship, participate in team sports training, or simply enjoy the beauty of the Wellesley campus and New England winter, without the pressure of schedules and deadlines. Resident students who are enrolled for second semester may occupy their rooms for all or part of this time. Wintersession Courses: Courses are varied and offered either as for credit or non-credit. The non-credit courses vary in subject matter from knitting to beer-tasting to computer skills and art. These classes are taught by students, staff and professors. A listing of non-credit courses will be posted soon. Another option is to take a P.E. class, such as dance, yoga or CPR. Other Wintersession Options: The Wellesley Wintersession parallels to the Independent Activities Period (IAP) at M.I.T. Wellesley students are encouraged to participate in the many short courses and activities offered in that program. There is a bus service between the two campuses. Link on the Transportation link for bus schedules. Many students also pursue internships or volunteer for community service projects during Wintersession. The Center for Work and Service (CWS) provides more detailed information as well as job listings.
