Wellesley College Wintersession 2008 January 3 - 24
[General Information][Transportation][Credit Courses][Non-Credit Courses][PE Courses]
What is Wintersession? Wintersession at Wellesley is a special time when students may choose to be at the College to pursue a course or project, try an internship, work, participate in team sports training, or simply enjoy the beauty of the Wellesley campus and a New England winter, without the pressures of schedules and deadlines. Resident students who are enrolled for second semester may occupy their rooms for all or part of this time.
Wintersession Courses: Courses are varied, and there are offerings for credit as well as non-credit. To view a listing of for credit coures offered in January 2008, please click here for the registrar's homepage. The non-credit courses vary in subject matter from origami to sharpening computer skills, and are taught by students, staff and professors. During January 2008, these non-credit courses will be offered. Another possibility is to take a Physical Education class, such as yoga or CPR.
Other Wintersession Options: The Wellesley Wintersession corresponds to the Independent Activities Period (IAP) at MIT. Wellesley students are encouraged to participate in the many short courses and activities offered in that program. There is bus service between the two campuses; see the Transportation page for bus schedules. Many students also pursue internships or volunteer for community service projects during Wintersession; the Center for Work and Service provides information and job listings.
