Members

For a list and profiles of current class council members, please click here. NOTE: This link can only viewed from computers on the Wellesley College campus.

If you are interested in becoming a representative from your residence hall to Class Council, there are still positions available for students living in Beebe, Cazenove, Claflin, Davis, McAfee, Munger, Shafer, and Stone. If you would like to be a dorm rep for any of these halls, please email Beth Santos on FirstClass.

Additionally, you can become a voting member of Class Council even if you are not a dorm rep by attending 3 meetings of Class Council. We'd love to have you join!

Meetings

Class council meetings are held every Tuesday at 4:45pm in the Wang Center, Room 415. Since we have been expanding as a group we've had to move out of our regular room in Pendleton and seek something bigger (which is, of course, a good thing!). For location or time changes, please check the Class of 2008 conference.

Class council is a lot of fun and we have a lot of really motivated people this year. The council is made up of the executive board, the webmistresses, and representatives from each dorm. Anyone who attends three council meetings also becomes an automatic voting member, so it’s easy to be a part of class council right away. If you don’t want to make the commitment of being a voting member, don’t forget that our meetings are always open to members of the class.

Each week we’ll post the agenda the day before the meeting on the Class of 2008 FirstClass Conference (to find out how to access it, click here). The minutes will be posted after the meeting is over on both the Class of 2008 Conference and on our website, so you can keep yourself posted about what’s going on, even if you can’t come.

So far this year we’re working on:

  • The traditional tree planting ceremony, to be held during Parents’ Weekend
  • Designing and ordering Sophomore Class sweatshirts
  • A sophomore slumber party in the new Wang Campus Center
  • Designing Wellesley College travel mugs and scarves, to be sold as fundraisers

So, if you're interested in any of our plans above, have other suggestions for cool class activities, or just want to come and see what Class Council is like, come to a meeting sometime and give us input so we can make this year fantastic!
