The humble beginnings of ABSK take us back 23 years ago to the other side of the coast. ABSK was founded in 1981 in Berkeley, California, originally as a ministry for second-generation Korean-American college students. Since then, this ministry has grown to include people of all different races and backgrounds.

In 1991, Rebekah Kim JDSN (the national ABSK director) and others were convicted to expand their ministry to the east coast and founded ABSKs on many Boston-area campuses, including BC, BU, Brandeis, Harvard, MIT, Wellesley, and many graduate schools. Since then, ABSK has even expanded across the world to Seoul, Korea and Tokyo, Japan.

Our director and Bible Study teacher is Michele Choi. Michele is an alum of Wellesley College and graduated with a BA in psychobiology in 1998. She met the Lord her junior year and after graduating, served as a Wellesley ABSK staff member for 7 years. In 2005, she got married and moved to help lead BU ABSK alongside her husband. She has an MS degree in Management Information Systems from BU and currently works at Computer Sciences Corporation in Kendall Square. She and her husband, Paul, live in Cambridge with their one year old son, Jonathan. She is excited to return to Wellesley ministry this year.

So whether you are someone who is seeking to find out the truth or a Christian who wants to grow, you are more than welcome at ABSK. And remember, anyone and everyone is welcome--you don't have to be Asian or Baptist!
