Housing and Dining

Housing

Every year Wellesley Students choose their dorms in accordance with a lottery system. The student can choose to block with her friends, so that they are all assigned to the same residence hall. There are many instances when friends end up living together on the same floor in the same dorm. This can be great during Ramadan, when students get up together for suhoor, and wake each other up, and also break fast together at iftaar in the dining hall.

There also exists a multi faith corridor on campus where students of different faiths are invited to live together to promote harmony and understanding between different faiths. This corridor is found in Beebee. While different faiths usually exist in all residence halls, this corridor is specifically meant to enhance the interaction and understanding between students with different religious beliefs.

Dining

There are a number of available halal dining options both on and offcampus for Muslim Students:
  • On Campus Options: Halal meant is offered in the Cazenove Dining Hall once a week. More information is available on the Al-Muslimat Conference on FirstClass.
  • Off Campus Options: There are a number of Halal dining restaurants and grocery stores in Boston. Please refer to The Boston Council of Muslim Students Association for more information.

Al-Muslimat is a part of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at Wellesley College
