Nazoo Anna Education Center is a school for refugees, one located in Afghanistan and one in Pakistan. The schools were
founded by Mrs. Nazaneen Majeed, originally with 27 female students in her own home. She had only the support of her family and her
will power, but the school was a success. Now the two schools are co-ed and have thousands of students at each location.
The students study English, Math, Science, and Reading. The goal is for the students to recieve enough to be accepted into college, and be able to return to help in their native countries. Many of the students hope to go to law school or medical school. They are amazing children, very determined and passionate.
The school is very short on funds, as it works purely on donations. There are not enough school supplies or even classrooms and many classes are held outside in tents. Nevertheless the children want to be there and learn. Amnesty did a Coffeehouse fundraiser in the fall for the Nazoo Anna Education Center and raised over $700.00
