ASTROphotography

ASTRO holds astrophotography sessions throughout the year. We've photographed the moon and planets by attaching a camera to the telescope and using the telescopeas a giant lense. We also "piggyback" the camera onto our smaller telescopes to use them as tripods that track the object as the sky moves. Here are some examples of members' astrophotography. Sometimes we use digital cameras, but usually we use film cameras so that we can print and develop the film in the observatory's own darkroom.
