Boston Area Students Involved in the Community

BASIC (Boston Area Students Involved in the Community) is a fast-growing service organization that seeks to connect college students from all over Boston with each other and with Boston's neighborhoods. We do this through a wide range of one-day projects, long-term programs, and citywide meetings and conferences. It was started at Harvard three years ago and the Wellesley branch was officially established in 2000. Members choose their level of commitment--they can participate in weekly programs or a couple of one-day projects throughout the year. BASIC is a great way to serve the community and meet other college students in the Boston area.
