

As the chief spokeswoman for the student body, the College Government President is responsible for advocating student opinion as well as presiding over weekly Senate and Cabinet meetings. In addition to acting as the chairwoman of the College Government Presidentís Council, she serves on numerous committees including the Budgetary Affairs Committee, Presidentís Advisory Council, and the Student Life Committee to the Board of Trustees. The College Government Vice President chairs the Student Organizations and Appointments Committee (SOAC). Her committee oversees organization constitutions and requests for recognition for the consideration and approval of Senate and is responsible for the all of the Student Organizations and Appointments Committee-appointed Student Representatives to Academic Council, the Student Council to the Board of Trustees, and all other committees as necessary. The Chief Justice, as the chief administrator of the Honor Code, chairs General Judiciary. Tiffany is responsible for educating the student body of the nuances of the College' s Honor Code, upholding the integrity of the Honor Code, and for holding hearings for alleged Honor Code violations . The Chief Justice works in conjunction with the Judicial Case Coordinator to schedule and hold hearings in a timely and efficient manner. As the chief administrator of the Student Activity Fee, the College Government Student Bursar chairs the Student Organization Funding Committee, serves on the Budgetary Advisory Committee, and oversees the work of student bookkeepers. She is responsible for assuring that SOFC allocates over $400,000 fairly among 180 student organizations through various funding processes throughout the academic year. The Multicultural Affairs Coordinator acts as the advocate for multiculturalism to Senate and chairs both the Cultural Presidentís Council and the Campus Wide Diversity Initiative. The MAC also sits on the Committee Against Racism and Discrimination, the Cultural Affairs Network, and the Committee for Lectures and Cultural Events. Monthly, the MAC meets with the Office for Equal Opportunity to discuss ways to further combat discrimination. She addresses all issues of diversity including, but not limited to, race, sex, class, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion, creed and age. The CPLA chair acts as the spokeswoman for CPLA to Senate and presents issues of local, national, and international importance to the student body in a nonpartisan manner. The CPLA chair oversees both general CPLA meetings and the SOAC-appointed CPLA Core. She organizes all CPLA events, including but not limited to the annual voter registration week, pizza lunches, and multiple lectures throughout the year. The DOOCA, as the chair of the 16-member Schneider Board of Governors (SBOG), acts as the link between Senate and other campus organizations concerning on-campus programming. SBOG plans some of the largest events every year, including Tower Court, Lake Day, and Spring Weekend. The DOOCA also serves on the Committee for Lectures and Cultural Events. Serving as the communication link between the House Presidents Council and College Government is the primary responsibility of the HPC Liaison. She works to promote inter-dorm communication to create policies that will better Residential Life. The College Government Secretary/Treasurer is responsible for all facets of College Government communication campus-wide. She publishes both Senate meeting agendas and minutes and attends to the correspondence of College Government. She is also the chief administrator of the Senate budget and heads Senate fundraising efforts. As chair of the Communications Committee, she promotes and publicizes events related to College Government and creates interest in the general community to participate in and learn about College Government.
