Performed in the spring of 1999, "Speakeasy" was one of the Wellesley College Dancer's most successful performances yet. Stepping out of the traditional styles of dance of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and tap, the Wellesley College Dancers truly did present culturally as well as theatrically rich choreography that beautifully brought the show to life. True to their promise, the Wellesley College Dancers most definitely made "Speakeasy" a night of unprohibited dance entertainment.
As a highlight of the performance, the Wellesley College Dancers were honored to have dancer, teacher, and choreographer, James Robey, as guest choreographer to set their company piece, "Turn Around Norman."
