Resources for the Borough
There are many resources out on the web that have been set up for the
express purpose of helping groups like the Borough of Felding. This list
hardly scraches the surface of those resources, but it makes for a good
starting point. If you come across other resources, feel free to email
the Borough and let us know.
- For those into more Italian flavored amusements, the place to go is i Sebastiani,
the Greatest Commedia del Arte troupe in the Entire World!
- The Costume
Page
Their blurb: "Welcome to The Costume Page, an index of costume
and costuming-related links, for the benefit of those who make and/or
study costumes: costumers, students, historical re-enactors, science
fiction fans, dancers, theatrical costumers, and those interested in
fashion, textile art, and costume history."
- Elizabethan Costuming Page
Extensive resources for later-period garb.
- Simplicity.com
Check here for the newest patterns in easy pseudo-medieval clothing.
- If you want information on how to get to Fabric Stores in Boston, you
probably ought to check out the instructions on how
to get to the Fabric District.
- The Rialto
Archive
The Rialto is a SCA-dian mailing list, and these archives
are kept of the more valuable information that crosses the ether.
A great source for creating your own device (coat of arms). The best part is the collection of all the charges ever found in English heraldry. Despite the fact that the guy isn't affiliated with the SCA, he's a great resource for SCAdians everywhere.
- Academy of Saint Gabriel
A great resource for choosing and documenting a period name. They'll tell you if what you've picked would have actually existed in period, and give you suggestions on the best way to make a name authentic.
- Pennsic War
The biggest SCA event ever, held every August in Pennsylvania.
- Clipart Castle
A collection of medieval and fantasy clipart for web pages. Some of the graphics on the Felding pages came from here.
- The Provost's
Handbook
A resource for all would-be and am-now Provosts; this
information is valuable.
