Rehearsals

he official rehearsals take place once a week for an hour to an hour and a half. Tunes learned in previous weeks are reviewed, and then Laura plays the new tune once or twice so the students can get the feel of the piece. She then breaks the song down into phrases and plays them as the students listen, eventually joining in and repeating the phrase until it is learned. The process continues until the entire tune has been learned, occasionally joining several fragments together before everybody plays the whole tune through.
