Purpose. Published three times per year and distributed free of charge, GenerAsians is dedicated to raising campus awareness of social, cultural, and political issues affecting Asians and Asian Americans. GenerAsians also hosts several events a year to further its purpose of educating the community and strengthening multicultural ties. Events. GenerAsians hosts several events per year, including the semi-annual un•typed spoken word night, co-sponsored with Ethos, the organization for students of African descent, as well as numerous fundraising events to help cover printing costs. History. GenerAsians was founded by Michelle Cheuk '00 in the spring of 1997. With financial assistance from several Asian student organizations and a staff of only 10 students, GenerAsians released their first issue in May of 1997. The magazine has since established itself as one of the college's major student publications, with a readership that comprises a diversity of students, faculty and staff. GenerAsians is now entering its sixth year of publication.
