Fall Shopping Trip
Every Fall, before the weather gets too chilly, the Hawaii Club goes on an outlet shopping trip to Wrentham for winter clothes. The upperclasswomen usually advise the first-years on what type of apparel to buy that will best prepare them for the cold months ahead. Such winter necessities include: winter jackets, scarves, snow boots, and turtle necks galore.

Luaus
In April, the Hawaii Club organizes a luau that is open to the Wellesley community. This luau attracts a fairly large audience who are treated to some delicious local food, music, and hula (a.k.a. traditional Hawaiian dance) performances. In Spring 2007, The Aloha Boys, a Hawai'ian music group from Washington, D.C., made a special appearance at our luau! Hawaii Club members also perform hula at Wellesley's annual Pan Asian Culture Show in March.

Fundraising
In order to raise money, the Hawaii Club participates in several fundraising events each year, such as Lake Day, Family Weekend, and Spring Week. For exmaple, on Lake Day, the Hawaii Club set up a table on Severance Green, along with other organizations, to sell goods and promote the club. This past Lake Day, the Hawaii Club sold a variety of things including sarongs, hawaiian print hand bags, and shell necklaces.

Club Meetings
Club meetings are held once a month. During these meetings, club members discuss and plan events, socialize, unwind, and eat onolicious (a.k.a. "yummy" or "delicious") snacks from home.

Lectures
The Hawaii Club enjoys cosponsoring lectures with other clubs. For example, last year, the club teamed up with Wellesley Asian Alliance to host lectures by Gary Okihiro, a Columbia professor. Another guest speaker the club hosted was Kathy Song, a poet and Wellesley alumnus.
