Ingredients:

  • 1 (2 lb.) box ziti

  • 7 eggs

  • _ lb. butter

  • _ gallon milk

  • parmesan or kefalotiri cheese

  • 1 _- 1 _ lb. ground meet

  • 1 lb. onions, chopped

  • salt and pepper

  • cinnamon to taste (can be omitted)

  • tomato sauce


  • Procedure:

    Boil ziti until tender.
    In pan, brown meat with onions.
    Add salt, pepper and cinnamon to taste.
    Add tomato sauce and cook until done.
    To make cream sauce, melt _ lb. butter; do not burn.
    Add 5 heaping tablespoons of flour.
    Warm milk and slowly add to the flour mixture until smooth and creamy; take off heat.
    Next, beat eggs and slowly add warm milk mixture to them.
    In pan, place layers of ziti, meat and cream sauce (start off with ziti layer first).
    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until top is lightly browned.
