The PRESIDENT shall coordinate all Japan Club meetings and events as well as delegate responsibilities to the Executive Board as necessary. She will serve as the link between Japan Club, the Japanese Department, the Anime Club, the Japanese Corridor, Slater International, and the Wellesley Asian Alliance as well as keep in close working contact with the Advisor to Students of Asian Descent. She is also responsible for updating the constitution on an annual basis and making sure the organization abides by college government guidelines. The President should have at least one year of previous Japan Club Executive Board experience.

The VICE PRESIDENT shall work in close working contact with the President in planning events. She shall help the President direct Executive Board meetings and attend any meetings as the President’s proxy if the President is absent or at her request. She is responsible for checking the Japan Club mailbox at least on a weekly basis and bringing all materials to Executive Board meetings. The Vice President shall also assume the responsibility of coordinating at least one lecture per academic year.

The TREASURER shall be responsible in maintaining the Japan Club budget. She shall be quick in processing and distributing reimbursements when eeded, keep accurate records of all transactions, and obtain funding for events. The Treasurer is also responsible for attending Student Organizations Finance Committee (SOFC) meetings when needed and checking the Treasurers’ Conference on a weekly basis.

The SECRETARY shall record minutes at all weekly Executive Board meetings and events and is responsible for distributing copies of the minutes to the Japan Club Executive Board officers within 48 hours of each meeting or event. She shall also be responsible for all space reservations and keeping general members updated on Japan Club activities.

The LOGISTICS CHAIR shall be in charge of organizing any transportation needs for any event-related needs. She will be responsible for equipment rental and purchases as well as be in charge of ordering food for events. She shall also work closely with the treasurer, since most of this is money-dependent.

The PUBLICITY CHAIR shall play a major role in publicizing Japan Club and its events on-campus and off-campus. She shall make and copy flyers for events, and be the co-controller of the Japan Club Conference with the President to help keep it organized and spam-free. She is responsible for taking pictures at each event and keeping the website updated.

The CULTURAL CHAIR shall organize all cultural events, primarily Japan Club’s annual Yuki Matsuri. She shall also sit on the Asian Awareness Month Committee and Pan-Asian Cultural Show Planning Committee as a representative of the Japan Club.

The SOCIAL CHAIR shall help the cultural chair with the Yuki Matsuri. She is also responsible for organizing social events and shall serve as a liaison between other Japanese organizations from other colleges and Wellesley College Japan Club.

The JAPAN CORRIDOR LIAISON shall organize events within the Japan Corridor as well as organize and run the Japan Table. The Japan Corridor Liaison should live in Japan Corridor.

The KENDO CHAIR shall act as a liaison between Japan Club and Kendo Club and arrange Kendo practices by organizing practice times and reserving spaces. She shall act as a liaison to Harvard Kendo Club, keep a rough estimate of who is coming to Kendo practices, attend e-board meetings, and help support Japan Club with events as needed.

The SPECIAL INTEREST SENATOR shall attend weekly Senate meetings and vote on campus issues on behalf of the Japan Club members and the Japanese and Japanese American population on-campus. She is also responsible for updating Japan Club Executive Board officers and general members on issues that arise in Senate.
