Welcome to the Mezcla de Wellesley College home page!
What is Mezcla?
Founded in 1972, this organization and its members have dedicated themselves to progressive changes for the Latina community here at Wellesley College.
Mezcla is an organization devoted to the academic, political, and social interests of the American students of Latino descent at Wellesley College.
The objectives of the organization are as follows:
- To act as a support group for Wellesley students of Latino descent.
- To improve the Latino cultural awareness of the Wellesley College community.
- To improve the representation of Latinos in the student body, faculty, and administration of the College.
- To network with similar organizations on the East Coast and across the nation.
Such objectives are realized through various events sponsored by Mezcla throughout the year such as lectures, conferences, community service projects, and social events.
Mezcla's members mostly consist of Latina women, however, it is an open organization that welcomes members of all backgrounds.
