Greetings from the President:

Welcome to Wellesley College Model United Nations!

My name is Mary Mei and I am a senior majoring in Political Science and Economics at Wellesley. I have participated in Model UN at Wellesley for the past four years and served as Webmistress, Secretary, Head Delegate, and President during various semesters.

The aim of Wellesley College Model UN is to encourage student learning and understanding of international relations and diplomacy. To achieve this end, we hold weekly training sessions for delegates to enhance their public speaking skills and procedural knowledge, and we participate in a number of collegiate conferences throughout the nation and around the world.

Wellesley Model UN requires a low weekly time-commitment but places a premium on team dedication. Members are expected to participate in the annual WorldQuest event, fundraisers, lectures, and other MUN-sponsored events, as attendance is the primary determinant of conference participation. From personal experience, I have found that dedicated team members are also those who gain the most from the experience!
