Project Reach Out
OMHA's PRO Committee represents the support component of the group. The Project Reach Out
Committee, known as PRO, seeks to create and maintain a peer-led network to provide resources to those on
campus who are in need of personal support or information on mental health. Essentially, the goal is to
offer in real life the same type of support that is a part of SafeSpace in the computer world. Working closely with personnel
from Wellesley's Stone Center, Certain students
would be selected as specially trained mental health "advocates" for their peers.
In addition, the Project Reach Out Committee, which is chaired by two students, also offers such mental-health-related activities
as themed study breaks, discussion, and occasional movie nights.
PRO is currently in its development stages. Look for updates on this exciting new OMHA committee soon.
