The Talk committee is one of OMHA's main subcommittees. Its purpose is to encourage
live discussion and education about various topics of mental health. Throughout the year, the Talk
committee organizes about three to four student panels on specific subjects of interests. These
panels, which are conducted with the presence and assistance of Wellesley counseling staff, feature
honest accounts of mental disorders by Wellesley students. With respect and open-mindedness, the greater
Wellesley community can listen, discuss, and learn from the experiences of peers. Topics of previous panels have included
obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and depression. The Talk committee of OMHA is also
responsible for additional discussion events intended for all Wellesley students, such as outside speakers.
