The great sport of rugby first made its appearance at Wellesley in 1988. Since then, the Wellesley College Rugby Football Club has advanced its standings from Division III to Division II. Besides dedication to rugby, our players have a history of high academic standards and community involvement with interests ranging from college government to DJing at our campus radio station to volunteering to even sleeping in. Our head coach, Dee hails from Beantown Rugby and we're proud to have her coach us. Our backs coach, Emily, is a former Wellesley rugger who is currently playing for Beantown.

In addition to our usual 5 games every season, Wellesley ruggers participate annually in three tournaments: the Beantown tournament, the Seven Sisters tournament and the Beast of the East tournament. The Beantown tournament occurs during our fall season, and the Seven Sisters and the Beast of the East occur during our spring season.
