    I. Name: Wellesley Pre-Veterinary Society (WPVS)

    II. Purpose

      A. To foster community between pre-veterinary students at Wellesley
      B. To promote and stimulate interest in the field of veterinary medicine through activities related to the field.
      C. To provide information, resources, and assistance regarding animal health care and veterinary professions.
      D. To serve as a gateway society to the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association

    III. Membership

      A. Membership shall be open to all student activity fee paying students.
      B. Membership shall not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, creed, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or financial status.

    IV. Organization

      A. This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, creed, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or financial status.
      B. This organization shall adhere to the Wellesley College Honor Code.

    V. Powers and Duties

      Of the officers:
        Of the President
        1. Shall facilitate meetings.
        2. Shall be responsible for organizing events.
        3. 3. Shall serve as liaison between the organization and the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association.
        Of the Vice-President
        1. Shall facilitate meetings in the president?s absence.
        2. Shall aid the president in her duties.
        Of the Treasurer
        1. Shall be in charge of all financial business of the organization.
        2. Shall keep detailed records of the organization?s accounts.
        3. Shall transmit fees and dues to the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association.
        Of the Secretary
        1. Shall keep records of all meetings.

    VI. Activities

      A. Meetings
      1. The organization shall have one open heavily advertised meeting per semester.
      2. The organization shall have regular meetings every other week.

    VII. Quorum

      A. Transaction of Business
      1. A majority of members of the organization is required.
      2. 1. Three-quarters of the organization is required.

    VIII. Finance

      A. The organization will apply for SOFC funds each year.
      B. In addition to and SOFC funds, the organization shall fundraise in accordance with SOFC legislation.
      C. The organization shall adhere to all SOFC regulations.

    > IX. Election

      A. Officers shall be elected in the late spring of each year, with elections held in the fall for any position(s) unfilled in the spring.
      B. Officer Eligibility
      1. All officers shall be regular attendants of meetings.

    X. Adoption

      A. The constitution shall be valid when adopted by two-thirds majority vote of the stipulated quorum for constitutional business.
      B. The constitution shall be valid when a copy has been signed by the President of the Organization and by the Vice President of the College Government Association, and is filed in the College Government Office.

    XI. Amendment

      A. Any proposed amendment shall be made by the officers and approved by the general members, by a two-thirds vote.
