Application Overview

The following is an overview of the steps you need to take to apply to Wellesley.

Complete an Application
The Wellesley application consists of two parts: (1) the Wellesley Application Supplement and (2) the Common Application.

You may apply online to Wellesley through the Common Application website. You must complete both the Common Application and the Wellesley Supplement, which you can access on the Common Application website. The $50 application fee is waived if you apply online.
You may download the Wellesley application to complete and mail to the Board of Admission.
You may request to have a printed application sent to you in the mail. Please complete the Information Request form.

Show Us Your Talents

In support of the application, you are encouraged to submit the fruits of your talents and interests, including high-quality audiotapes, slides of artwork, or other creative projects. However, we do not accept videotapes. Please refer to the Optional Arts Background Form in the Wellesley Supplement.

Meet Us Face to Face
Interviews are strongly recommended but are only required for students applying for Accelerated Admission, the Davis Degree Program (continuing education), the Postbaccalaureate Program, or the Transfer Students Program. Plan to schedule your interview at least two weeks prior to visiting Wellesley. For more information see Interview Information.

Take the Tests
Wellesley requires that you take the following tests if you're applying for admission as a first-year student: the SAT Reasoning Test and two SAT Subject Tests, or you may take the ACT with Writing Test.

If you are seeking September admission, you must take the tests by December of your senior year. See Testing Deadlines and Dates for test dates and deadlines.

Visit Us
There is no better way to experience Wellesley than to come see the campus and meet our students, faculty, and administrators for yourself. If you're serious about attending Wellesley, a campus visit will give you a better sense of what you can expect from the college experience. A personal interview is not a required part of Wellesley's application process for most first-year applicants; however, we do recommend it. If you are a high school senior, you are invited to spend a night in a Wellesley residence hall and sit in on classes. If you are a junior in high school, you can participate in the campus visit program after May 1 of your junior year. Students and their families can come for a campus tour anytime. See Visit Us for more information, or contact us.
