"We live in an era in which old assumptions must be re-examined, institutions modernized and relationships transformed."
Madeleine K. Albright '59

The Albright Institute will educate young women for positions of leadership in global affairs.

A core mission of Wellesley College is to prepare women for leadership roles around the globe, in all fields and at all levels. Among our many distinguished alumnae, Madeleine K. Albright ’59 stands as a powerful acknowledgment of our commitment to leadership.

Accordingly, Wellesley College proudly unveils the Madeleine Korbel Albright Institute for Global Affairs (Albright Institute). The Albright Institute will educate women to fulfill leadership positions, promote the role of women in international relations, and inform policy discussions and academic thought in global affairs.

The Institute will integrate the intellectual resources of Wellesley College’s faculty, the research capabilities of the Wellesley Centers for Women, the experiences of thought leaders in global affairs, and the rich diversity of leading alumnae and associates.

And it will provide a fitting tribute to a respected and accomplished leader of American society.
