Dear ’56 Classmates,

Charleston memories remain clear in our minds and the photos may still be viewed  on the website.  In case you haven’t figured out how to see more than one photo, click on the little arrow at the bottom left and you will get a slide show with lots of classmates, and  many  beautiful scenes of Charleston.  Also, see photos from a '56  75th party in Sarasota.

To ensure better security, this website now operates through the College with the help of Caroline Sun, an undergraduate. Send your photos of Wellesley connections such as the regional “Birthday Parties” or other events to Toni Holland Liebman (toelieb@aol.com) who will add them to the website on a quarterly basis.

Upcoming Birthday Parties  will be on May 7th in New Haven and September 11th  at the Wellesley College Club.  Contact Shelly Scott Putney (ssputney@earthlink.net) if you’d like to be included in any events outside your local vicinity.  Otherwise, you will be invited by the hostess(s) in the area of your primary address.  Nora Macfarlane Nevin and I will be doing something in August on Martha’s Vineyard. We hope some of you will be vacationing there and will join us.  Last year Toni and Ken Liebman and Relle Lasky Levine and Norman joined 6 of us “locals” for a terrific evening. The Maud Hazeltine Scholarship Fund, initiated by our class with a generous challenge grant from Ann Rockefeller Roberts, continues to grow nicely and fills an especially important niche this year as requests for financial aid soar and the College’s endowment dips. An additional $50,000 will be donated by Ann when we reach $150,000.  As of Feb. 1st  the fund’s balance was $120,000

Plans are now in the making for the 55th, chaired by Anne Sinnott Moore and Anne Colby Zachos. Save the dates: June 10 – 12, 2011.  “The Annes” promise it will be the best 55th in  Wellesley College history – and the most meaningful for each of us. But they will need lots of help, so please contact them (adczachos@comcast.net and annmoo@comcast.net) and volunteer to be part of their team.

Stay well and stay in touch with your friends and with the class – via our Class notes written by Laura Ginsburg Strauss (miator2@aol.com).  As we all have learned through times of  loss, friendships are increasingly important, and must not be taken for granted.
