Book Recommendations  We're starting with just one, but there will be more once we get a volunteer to gather book recommendations from our classmates and forward them to me each quarter.  If you are interested in helping in this way, please contact me at joanne.cogar@verizon.net.

From Martha Reardon Bewick:

The Rest is Noise by Alex Ross, the music critic of the New Yorker.

I’ve just been reading, for instance, “The Rest is Noise” by Alex Ross.   It’s a grand pot pourri of the music and composers of the 20th century,  which helps one in understanding who they were, and where the music came from.   Full of interesting anecdotes too.

Speaking of “The Rest is Noise,” did you see that it made the list of the 10 best non-fiction books of the year (NYT and Time Magazine).
