Sarasota
and Key West:
Florida's Cultural Capitals |
2005
February
|
The recent reopening
of the Ringling Mansion—one of America's
finest 1920s palaces—is just one of many
highlights of the architectural and artistic
renaissance taking place in Florida today. Our
tour focuses on two vibrant centers of creativity
in the state: the cultural community of Sarasota
and the bohemian art colony of Key West. We'll
enjoy an exclusive after-hours tour of the Ringling
Mansion; a luncheon in a historic home in Tampa;
a tour of world-famous Sarasota modernist houses
led by a famed local architect; and a farewell
dinner in a beautiful historic Key West home.
We'll also visit Sarasota's Ringling
Museum of Art and Selby Gardens, the Salvador
Dalí Museum, and Truman's Little White
House in Key West. A special highlight of our
tour is a highspeed catamaran trip between Sarasota
and Key West, turning seven hours of driving
into less than four hours of cruising the pristine
waters of Florida Bay. Join us for this inspired
winter escape! |
