Join
Wellesley alumnae and friends in Michoacán
as we discover charming craft towns, indigenous villages, majestic colonial cities,
and ancient archaeological ruins.
Our adventure begins in the picturesque town
of Pátzcuaro, a famous center for arts and crafts, traditional
festivals, and Tarascan Indian markets. Here, we’ll meet with weavers,
ceramists, lacquer artists, and woodworkers. In the nearby villages of Santa
Clara del Cobre, Tocuaro, and Tzintzuntzan, we will
visit remote Spanish colonial churches, examine ancient pyramids, and explore
the Museo Regional de Artes Populares.
We conclude our program in the heart of Morelia,
a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with visits to Morelia’s best museums. Don’t
miss this opportunity to discover one of Mexico’s best-kept secrets.
