Discovering Philadelphia
|
2007
September 6-9
|
This art and architecture tour will highlight the great
cultural treasures that made Philadelphia National Geographic Traveler's “Next
Great City.” In addition to the impressive holdings of the Philadelphia
Museum of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Rosenbach Museum, we’ll
enjoy a special behind-the-scenes Vault Tour of the Pennsylvania Academy
of the Fine Arts, the nation’s first art museum and school of fine
arts. Other highlights include gallery receptions, visits to studios
and private collections, plus a tour of the historic Old City. We will
also meet local artists and Wellesley alumnae, longtime residents of
the area, who will share their passion for this extraordinary city. With
a lovely centrally located hotel, expert local guides, and the Wellesley
touch, there’s never been a better way to discover the special
charms of Philadelphia.
