Carolina Creativity:
An Art Lover’s Springtime Journey
|
2008
April 11–17
|
Take an in-depth look at North Carolina’s centers of creativity
with Wellesley alumnae and friends. Our journey begins
in Raleigh-Durham, as we visit the region’s historic and artistic
jewels, including the recently opened Nasher Museum
of Art. The historic tobacco and textile town of Winston-Salem is a small southern city that is seeing an arts renaissance.
There, we are guests at Reynolda House, with its fine
collection of American art
and furnishings reflecting the time the R.J. Reynolds
family lived here. Our program ends in Asheville and
features a private after-hour’s
visit of the legendary Biltmore Estate. Throughout
our tour, we will visit with noted ceramic, glass,
and folk artists in their studios. Comfortable
accommodations, insights of expert local guides, and
superb Southern cuisine enhance this special program.
