Wellesley began its 125th anniversary year celebration on Wednesday, September 6, 2000 with Convocation. The event took place from 12:45 - 2:00 p.m., inaugurating the College's new mid-day community time. It was a gorgeous, early fall day. A box lunch was served to Seniors and faculty on Davis Museum Plaza and to students and employees on Munger Meadow just prior to the ceremony. The procession moved majestically from the Plaza to a tent on Munger Meadow. Speeches were given by Diana Chapman Walsh, President of the College; Lee Cuba, Dean of the College; Geneva Walker-Johnson, Dean of Students; and Marisa Van Saanen, President of College Government.
