A Day to Make a Difference

In honor of the College's 125th Anniversary and its commitment to community service, the Alumnae Association designated September 9, 2000 as a day to make a difference. Wellesley's mission is to educate women who will make a difference in the world. Our Stake in Trade Policy
A lecture by Ambassador Susan Esserman '74

Susan Esserman is Deputy United States Trade Representative with the rank of ambassador. She was appointed to this position by President Clinton and unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate. Her portfolio encompasses the development of trade policy and negotiations in the World Trade Organization and other multilateral forums, as well as Europe, Russia and the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Africa.

Jean Kilbourne is internationally recognized for her pioneering work on alcohol and tobacco advertising and the image of women in advertising. This updated and award-winning film offers a new generation of viewers the chance to share her uniquely empowering critique of advertising's image of women. Presented as part of the Wellesley Centers for Women Luncheon Seminar Series.
