Wednesday, September 6 was Wellesley's day to celebrate.

the carnival on Severance GreenThe evening began at 4:45 p.m. for the Wellesley College community, students, faculty, employees and our families. Then, at 6:30 p.m. we opened our campus to residents of the town.

Chapel Lawn and Severance Green were the two main venues for the events. On Chapel Lawn you found a fabulous 125th picnic dinner. The Cape Cod Traveling All-Stars provided the entertainment. Dinner and music were from 4:45 - 7 p.m.

Also beginning at 4:45 over on Severance was a good, old-fashioned carnival. We had everything from a merry-go-round to flying swings to moon walks. Back by popular demand were the antique photos and Frisbee spin art. There was also be a crafts table for younger kids and lots, lots more.

antique photosThe night ended with a bang. At 8:30 Wellesley lit up the sky with a magnificent fireworks display over Lake Waban.
