Slide Library Policies for Art Departmental Faculty
- The collection is open M-F from 8:30-4:00 during the academic year (summer hours are M-TH). As an Art Dept. Faculty Member (Other Faculty have very limited use of the collection), the library is open to you by key at any time during the day. Please make sure you lock up the collection when working during non-business hours.
- You may borrow without filling out a checkout sheet and return the slides at your convenience. However, we would like to remind you that there are few duplicates within the collection and another faculty may need the image you have borrowed. It is best to return slides ASAP and leave lectures in progress on your designated slide table. You will also be given your own slide return box. Please also be aware if you take slides out of the library or the classroom, to not expose them to excessive heat, cold or humidity. Thank you.
- If you are teaching a 300-level course, your students will be allowed to borrow slides for their presentations. We have strict guidelines for their borrowing, which are outlined in a handout we would appreciate you distributing.
Slide Library Policies for Non-Departmental Faculty
*Slides are only to be used for lectures on the Wellesley Campus.
- Check in with the Slide Library Curator or Asst. Curator.
They will help you locate the material you need and provide you
with boxes for storing slides. Art Department Faculty have priority
and may remove slides from your box, if needed.
- Slides may be pulled up to one week in advance, but may only be
taken from the Slide Library for the class period in which they are in use.
Slides should be returned the same day to the Slide Library Staff. If the
slides are not returned promptly, or if they are damaged or lost, slide
privileges will be revoked.
- Fill out form; include your name, address, phone number, and each slide's
information including artist/architect or building and accession number.
Student borrowers are limited to 25 slides for each course and faculty
borrowers may use up to 50 slides (at the discretion of the Slide Library
Staff).
