Altered Books Workshop
~ APPLIED ARTS FUND ~
In addition to the regular studio art curriculum, a separately funded
program allows the Art Department to offer a series of short, non-credit
workshops and special events with visiting artists. These workshops
vary throughout the year, but often address studio topics such as ceramics,
papermaking, book arts, calligraphy, woodworking and glass. All applied
arts events are non-credit and open to all members of the college community
regardless of previous studio experience. Upcoming studio workshops
are announced spontaneously throughout the year.
If you are interested, keep your eye on the ART conference site posted
on First Class, and contact the Applied Arts Coordinator Andrews Warren
(x2025) or Lisa Priest (x2042) for more information.
>> Sign up sheets for each workshop will be posted on the counter
in front of the art department office.
Examples of Previous Workshops:
- Mat Cutting, Pointed Pens, Silversmithing, Papermaking with Katherine
McCanless Ruffin, collage, quilt making,
needlepoint.
