I
was born and raised in Taiwan, where I completed my undergraduate studies
in accounting at the National Taiwan University. Since then,
my interests have taken me on a diverse and enlightening career path. While
I taught courses at a high school in Taiwan, I eventually winded up at the
University of Georgia at Athens to get a Master in Education. Returning to
Taiwan, I held a variety of positions including faculty member, Director
of the Counseling Center, and Dean of Students at a college. After a brief
stint teaching at Oregon State University, I ended up in Massachusetts. By
now, I had already decided to pursue counseling in some form as a profession.
Working as a school psychologist, case manager for special needs students,
and clinician to families and children, I gained valuable experiences that
have expanded my counseling capabilities.
Since starting at Wellesley in the spring of 2002, I received my doctorate in Counseling and School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. I have fully utilized all of my skills, education, and experiences working here. While I didn’t quite know what to expect at first, the tightly-knit community was quick to welcome me. Today, I feel deeply touched to be a part of the Wellesley family. Not only that, but my own family has also become part of the community. My two daughters (ages 6 and 11) can often be seen participating in the various programs on campus, or running around the Campus Center (their favorite building on campus).
