Services

Below are resources I often refer students to depending on the subject. In addition to including some basic information and links, I have also listed the staff members who I have the greatest contact with.

Center for Work and Service—The Center is a career resource for students. In addition to providing information on successful job seeking skills and up-to-date job openings in many fields and locations, they also award stipends for studies and internships. The counselors have valuable knowledge and experience to impart to students on job searches, effective resumes, interviewing, and other such skills.
Sue Wang, Associate Director

Stone Center Counseling Services—The Stone Center provides free counseling to Wellesley students. In addition to individual therapy, the Center also runs several group therapy sessions (themes vary, so check their website for more information). Students are may switch counselors in accordance with their individual preferences.
Kumi Choe, Staff Psychologist

Pforzheimer Learning and Teaching Center—The PLTC runs a multitude of programs geared toward improving academic performance. In addition to the Academic Peer Tutors found in each residence hall (who meet with first-year students individually and also run workshops on study skills), the PLTC also houses departmental tutors (who provide insight into the skill sets needed for specific subjects).
Veronica Darer, Director

Class Deans—The deans are a valuable resource on academic matters and often serve as liaisons between students and faculty with regards to academic performance.

Disabilities Services—James Wice, Director

Slater International Center—The Director of Slater serves international students by providing personal advising on adjusting to the US, as well as being the source for information on the policies, paper work, and procedures for international study.
Sylvia Hiestand, Director

LGBTQQ Services—The LGBTQQ Advisor is an excellent source of information on LGBTQQ concerns. In addition to providing individual advising, the Advisor also runs several programs addressing LGBTQQ issues. The Advisor works closely with the student organization, Spectrum, and with the Peer Resources.
Judah Dorrington, Advisor to LGBTQQ Students
