This beautiful beast is the 12" refractor at Cornell's Fuertes Observatory. The picture was taken shortly after my friends and I spent the summer of 1987 refurbishing it. Unfortunately, you can't see the beautiful brass finder scope from this angle, but the Schmidt camera (black tube) is visible at the top. Hopefully the current incarnation of the Cornell Astronomical Society is taking good care of it all.
