Public Observing Night at Whitin —
The Wellesley College Astronomy Department will host an evening of
stargazing with telescopes at the Whitin Observatory on
Friday, April 11, 2008,
weather permitting.

The lunar eclipse on the night of Wednesday Feb. 20, 2008
will be visible from the eastern U.S.,
provided that the sky is clear enough.
No equipment is needed to view the eclipse —
wherever you are, just go outside periodically
to look up and find the Moon!
Partial eclipse begins at EST 8:43 pm,
then totality lasts from EST 10:00 pm until 10:52 pm,
followed by partial eclipse until EST 12:09 am.

“Hands-on Astronomy:
Astrophotography of Stars and Planets”
will be offered on a not-for-credit basis
during the first half of the spring semester in 2008.
