Grover Leads Wellesley Past Clark, 66-59
WORCESTER, MASS. – Kelly Grover (Westbrook,
Maine) scored 21 points, grabbed a season-high 16 rebounds and swatted
away five shots to lead Wellesley (9-8, 4-3 NEWMAC) past Clark 66-59
in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference
women’s basketball action, Tuesday at Clark (10-11, 2-4).
Grover, one of four Wellesley players in double-digits, led all
scorers connecting on 10-of-15 shots for 66.6 field goal percentage.
Erin Johnson (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) had 12 points for the Blue,
while Christine Carbonello (Londonderry, N.H.) chipped in with 11
points and seven rebounds and first-year Catherine Romasco (Sutton,
Mass.) netted 10 points and passed off three assists.
Clark’s Rachel Turkington paced the Cougars with 16 points,
including four three-point field goals, while Briana Freeman and
Echo Freeman netted 12 and 10 points respectively.
Wellesley returns to action Saturday, February 15 at home against
the United States Coast Guard Academy. Tip-off is scheduled
for 2 p.m
