WILLIAMS TROUNCES WELLESLEY 63-35

Williamstown, Mass. – Williams College held Wellesley to just four points over the first ten minutes of the game and never looked back downing Wellesley 63-35 in the championship game of the Williams College Invitational.
 
Wellesley (1-1) was ice cold from the start misfiring on its first 14 shots to finish the half an abysmal 1-for-23 from the field.  Wellesley shot just 17 percent from the field for the game, connecting on 7-of-24 shots in the second half and 8-of-47 for the game.
 
Led by 15 points on 7-for-15 shooting from Margaret Miller, Williams had three players score in double-digits as Colleen Hession and Meghan Stetson chipped in with 13 and 12 points each. Williams outscored Wellesley 34-11 in the first half opening the game with a 17-1 run. Hession and Stetson combined for 10 points in the opening run.
 
Wellesley was led by seven points and six rebounds from Kristin Doeberl (West Redding, COnn.), while Catie Romasco (Worcester, Mass.), Erin Johnson (Westhampton, N.Y.) and first-year Laura Jasinski (Amherst, Mass.) each chipped in with six points a piece.  Jasinski led Wellesley in rebounding for the second consecutive game with nine caroms.
 
Johnson and Jasinski were named to the all-tournament team.  Johnson tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds in two games while Jasinski totaled 12 points, 20 rebounds, two steals and two assists in two games for the Blue.
