Wellesley Falls to Nationally Ranked Brandeis University
 

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's basketball team placed four players in double figures and held visiting Wellesley to 25 percent shooting as the Judges, ranked No. 15 in the nation by d3hoops.com and No. 16 by the WBCA, rolled past the Blue, 80-27, in Red Auerbach Arena.

Brandeis (3-0) was paced by 13 points from junior guard Jaime Capra (Old Bridge, N.J.), who hit five-of-nine from the floor with a 3-pointer and two free throws. She also grabbed five rebounds, four on the offensive glass. Rookie guard Jessica Chapin (Mendon, N.Y.) added a career-high 11 points, while sophomore Lauren Orlando (Peabody, Mass.) and senior Caitlin Malcolm (Windsor Locks, Conn.) both scored 10. Sophomore forward Cassidy Dadaos (Healdsburg, Calif.) grabbed a team- and career-high six rebounds.


Wellesley (0-3) had two players reach double figures, as sophomore Jessica Duff (Milton, England) and junior Courtney Pelley (Leicester, Mass.) each had 10 points. Sophomore forward Julia Thomas (Concord, Calif.) pulled down a team-high five rebounds, while rookie Katie Martore (Great Falls, Va.) led all players with four assists.  

Brandeis is next in action Sunday when they host Endicott College at 1:00 p.m., while Wellesley hosts Rhode Island College in their home opener a week from today at 7:00 p.m.
