Wellesley Defense Stifles MIT

CAMBRIDGE, MA - The Wellesley College basketball team held MIT to 25 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers as it rolled past the Engineers, 52-27, Tuesday evening in a NEWMAC contest.

Junior Christine Carbonello scored a game-high 15 points on 6-for-8 shooting and hit all three of her 3-point attempts. First-year Kristin Doeberl added 10 on 5-for-8 shooting.

Wellesley outrebounded MIT, 39-30, as Kate Lyren, Kelly Grover and Amanda Davidson each grabbed seven boards.

Wellesley (9-5 overall, 2-1 NEWMAC) travels to WPI for a NEWMAC game Saturday at 2 p.m.
